Mathematicians

We all like to be special at something and maths is it for many and others well... Here is a challenge if you know the alphabet you can do this:

The second part was trickier you need to know how and vowels and consonents are in you name an dhow numbers go together e.g. to make the 0.003 I have 3 consonants so my consonant value could have 0.001 in it. I have 2 vowels in my name so I could try having 2.0 for each vowel. So far I have 2.0 +2.0 +0.001 +0.001 +0.001 which comes to 4.003 out of 4.253. So I have have to figure out how I can spread/distribute 25/100s. or 0.25 I think I added 0.1 to each vowel (to be honest first I tried add 0.2 to each vowel forgetting I had to half the 0.2)

So vowels became 2.1 each giving be 4.2 out of 4.253 and Consonants became 0.017 giving me 0.051 but I still needed 0.002 more, as it was even I could have it for my vowels.

Kawa of Care and Pass What

This week our focus is logging in our teacher had to sort out the computers as she could upload some file thing so we could have fresh accounts for the year. But now that is all done.

Kawa of Care

Now we all say we know this but knowing and doing are not always the same.
  1. Close your chromebook to walk it to the teacher
  2. No food or drink near chromebooks (That is teacher's too!)
  3. Close it carefully
  4. Store it is a safe place (NOT THE FLOOR!)
We have to take photos of us showing how we should look after our chromebook or the one we are using, on loan from the school.

Passphrase

We got to play with words and dice. Our faciliator Mr Margetts had this image of hundreds, or what looked like hundreds, of words. We had to roll the dice (1 to 6) twice the first number told us what box the word was from the second told us which line. We had to do this 3 times.

So our phrase started something like this book sing hat - could you image a book singing to a hat?
We had to remove spaces, add a number a capital letter and a symbol for good measure.

fold blue leaf - how about folding a blue leaf?

Swimming

It is that time of year again when the pool is open and we can jump in. I love to say dive, but even I can touch the bottom.

No time for mucking around (yet) we have 20 metres we can swim. You guys can do better! After 4 laps of freestyle with correct breathing and 3 back stroke and 2 breaststroke. We were starting to get a little tired. But when Miss said "Okay 2 bombs each" we were up and at  the wall quicker that you could say 'home time'.

Working together

We have all been given a rectangle to colour in. The rectangle is part of a larger picture. We have been asked to talk to the students with the pieces above, below and beside ours to help co-ordinate the colours. I wonder what will happen? Being a short week I wonder when it will be finished. We also have to colour in a paddle to help our waka move along the learning journey.

Welcome to 2022

We have moved and are now upstairs. We have two teams in our school working collaboratively. We are part of the Karearea Team. This is the logo on our term learning site. We have 3 classes with the teachers Mrs Mundy, Mrs Kumar and Mrs Haioti. The teachers are looking to getting to know everyone and have a lot of fun.
