Finding the Area of Joined Shapes

We have been learning how to work out the area and perimeter of different shapes.

Today we had to work out the area of a flat house or rocket. We had to break the original shape into parts. Such as a rectangle/square and a triangle before we could work out the area.

I love maths and using formulas to work out answers. We even talked about the Pythagoras theorem to help work out the height of a triangle. Only to work out the triangle was a right-angle triangle. LOL

What do you like about maths?
